I made 280 rwkw with std rail and lines with Walbro 255 and in line Bosch pump.. With turbo engine, stock block.. You will find it easier to use larger [stainless] steel pipe in original brackets.. As braided is too large, needs another method of attachment.. Plus it can be easily damaged.. But braided can be used from firewall to engine... It must have been an EXTREMELY tight fit. The first part to hit the manifold is the hose, second is the actual metal part the hose attaches too. Even without the hose it will still hit on the manifold and is about 1.5cm away from being able to bolt up. What size AN are the standard hard lines? |

Have looked at a few low end no name fuel rails, but there must be a reason the TFS/Aeromotive rails are $110 more than the rest? Or maybe just the name that's being charged extra..... I also found that Russell make the push-lock Ford fittings http://www.jegs.com/p/Russell/Russell-Fuel-Rail-Fitting-Adapters/1503602/10002/-1 that click into the factory hard lines, they only come in -6an so was thinking of using the an reducers/adapters that go from -6 to -8 (for the fuel supply and return to the -8 rail/ ports) Are the hard line push lock clip things 3/8 hose or 5/16? They fit US factory fuel rails (eg 86-93 Mustang) just fine, I have that exact combo in the Mustang. But you are using Aussie fuel rails which are different, and the lower manifold wasn't designed to work with them. Unfortunately to run the US fuel rails the intake must be flipped (to face the right way) to clear the FP regulator which is on the opposite side of the intake compared with the Aussie rails.

Yep, don't have the same problem with Edelbrock and other intakes. Don't know why TFS can't seem to do it? |

So is there any particular sie lines I need to run? I've decided on some TFS fuel rails (made by Aeromotive) and also the TFS branded Aeromotive FPR. Rails have -8 ports so will use reducer unions from -8 to -6. So both the supply and return lines will be -6 (all ports on the FPR are -6)
FPR mounted on the side of the passengers shock tower thingie. I'm trying to work out how to do the supply to the rear of the rails so I did up a very quick photo chop to give an idea. Any thoughts on which model to go with, or any tweaks?

Easiest way to run the lines is like this.
Supply goes to one side of the rail. From there it goes down the rail, to the rear and crosses over to the 2nd rail. Your 2nd rail terminates at the other end. The return, which is half way along the rail, then goes to an input in your reg, and the output of the reg returns to the tank. Sorry i have no pics but thats the idea. Brett

I get what you mean. Accel have a fuel rail kit that is set up this way. Think I'll just do that as it will save a little coin on the braided stuff.
I've ordered the TFS rails and reg so will have a play around once it gets here. I just need to work out how to connect the supply/return up to the factory hard lines. On mine I Y blocked under firewall to two -8 braided to each side of fuel rail..
Then fitted fuel reg between the rails at the front.. So each rail has it's own fuel with less chance of any bad harmonics.. My system is designed for 1000 h.p turbo engine...

Thats a bloody good idea, how much room was there to fit the fuel reg between the rails with the dizzy there? I have ordered a 13101 fuel reg (Aero.) it looks quite big so I don't know if it will fit my application. Although you also have the TFS Track Heat upper don't you? That's also an effective way of cutting down on braided line. Did you just mount the reg using two 90 deg. fittings without any hose? As it looks like there isn't enough room to run hose between the reg and rails if mounted at the front. |

Obviously the yanks don't run climate control or the temp sensors in their water pipes.... I found this out today after I mounted the heater pipes and noticed that the return end fitting of the fuel rail won't fit with the temp sensor on it. The climate temp sensor is in the direct path of the fitting needed to be on the end of the fuel rail....
Is the climate temp sensor able to be located elsewhere or does it need to be in the heater pipes?
