Have come across a bit of a catch while stripping down my old clevo. How do you remove the cam bearings? Dont want to damage the block/bearing surface trying to get em out....

It's done with a drift. Take it to an engine rebuilder or some experienced mechanics will have a bearing tool and it wont take much or damage the pocket much to have them done.

WARNING- Not done right (lining up the oil feeds) will result in oil starvation and eventual failure. It costs three fifths of F**k all to have them done so pay the toll.

the amount of times ive paid for someone to put in the bearings $80 ( which are about 25$ for clevite ) i should have made up some dolleys myself ,

if your only going to do it every few years its best to get an engine builder to do it
