Just destroyed a crane 2031 - hardening on the very tops of the lobes badly pitted -still looking for reason - possibly lack of lube - not springs or lifters - using Compsprings #978.
Am now considering something other than Crane 2031.
Has anyone had experience with CompCams xe264hr with 1.7 RR?
Any dizzy gear problems?
Am using EECIV with Tweecer RT.

Richie.

Its a hydraulic roller, it doesn't have a break in proceedure, provided it has oil getting to it. ;)

im running comp xe264hr12.....no probs so far....just lifter clatter ....and the stock computer doesnt like the overlap with 112 lobe sep..ok if youve got a flash tuner or 114 lobe sep would be better for stock computer.....but then its not so strong in the mid range RPM
bloody compromises :?

I think LSA for 2031 was 112 as well.
What is causing your lifter chatter?

Richie

think its a combination of things....mainly the lifters ive read on other sites the stock lifters arent too flash.....i didnt strip them down and service them ....the comp cams are real quick ramping too
il pull the top off again and have a look one day
