The other thing to consider is how the cam is degreed at install. By advancing it you can improve low to mid range punch (suitable for auto with stock convertor) or by retarding it you can improve top end (suitable for manual trans or a loose convertor). We use Crow cams here in NZ with good results, on AU with 185kw engine swap in a set of 1.7 roller rockers.

hey good points guys,i would prefer less lift i think the diff between .512 and .544 is 1.6-1.7 rockers ive got stock gt40p intake has been ported top and bot,matched been thinkin about liftin heads for a while,maybe a plane for incr compression and ccing . Could go smaller cam but to close to stock have to get some prices on head work, would EEC handle this cam ok

that comp grind has 4 deg advance ground into it install straight up i like this cam caus it ramps up really quick more punch down low should suit the auto just a bit high lift should have got 1.6 rockers

Just fit a 2031 and you'll be fine...
Cam lift too much over 500 to 520 is wasting power and valve spring durability as these heads won't flow over 500 lift .. As said... An auto would like a wider lobe centre... 112 is about right... These cams are designed for aftermarket heads....

yer i might see if they do a grind with similar duration and less lift cause the theory of it having better acceleration down low by having 8 deg less difference between adv and @50thou makes sense its all good food for thought cheers
