yeh my tps is is fine its a brand new one. I have come to the conclusion its most likely a vacuum leak. That and my tune is not going to help the cause. O2 sensors shouldnt cause the car to hunt and stall all the time should they? I thought the side affect is running rich/lean etc

O2's can cause a dodgy idle but it's usually a symptom of something else. A vac leak could certainly cause this sort of problem.

I figured i'd keep this thread going,

I just spent the weekend taking off upper manifold, blocked EGR, replaced hoses that were cracked, made sure pcv was secured properly.

It was really good yesterday when i drove it,behaved like a stocker with a tuff idle......

However,

Today/tonight when i drove it,it is now starting to stall when i let go of the accelerator to turn a corner, it seems worse when lights are on.

I blocked up the hole on the TB that comes from oil filler, i noticed that the hose from the rocker cover was sucking air, i blocked it up for a few seconds and the pressure got higher, i realeased the oil cap and it sucked a lot of air.

Is the rocker covers supposed to be under a vacuum??

Any pointers guys would be greatly appriciated as this problem is doing my head in

Cheers,

Al

On std EEC the crankcase is fully sealed with NO venting to atmo..
If there is venting the engine could be recieving un-metered air and NOT idle properly..

My car is an el, I was under the impression that the tb should suck any fumes from the rocker, not the rocker be sucking, could there be that much vacuum coming through the PCV?

Ok, so the vacuum was caused by the pcv, i disconnected that and blocked up the manifold side so it was inoperable and that makes no difference to the idle issue.

What makes the motor idle high when you pull up to a set of lights? Usually it used to sit a few hundred higher for a few seconds when i stopped than dropped down to the normal idle, what would stop that from happening?

PCV goes to intake manifold.
Rocker cover breather goes to t-body.
Done a self test yet?
I've seen a few cases of blown ISC drivers in EF/L EEC's but I'd check the actual ISC valve itself.
You cannot set an ISC valve itself but you can set the idle speed as described in the sticky.

How do I do a self test?
