A T5 gearbox cross member used in reverse, out of a XF might fix having to weld an extension on for the C4, I wish I had found one before I put a Clevo in a late XF (they don't have the forward mounting holes for C4 tranny, T5 XF models were less than 6yrs old, so they were scarce to find at the wreckers anyway), I just slotted the standard gearbox crossmember and drilled new holes forward of the originals (nearly on the corners), personally I thought it was bodgy but I was in a hurry.
Would a long wheel base tailshaft be closer to fitting at standard location? Maybe even an earlier model tailshaft and change over rear flanges etc, could save bashing in the firewall or custom tailshaft. Front slip yoke out of earlier Falcons are basically all the same through the models except for 31 spline FMX and rare 31 spline output toploaders (most are 28), in most cases you can swap the yoke anyway.

If you've got a 5.0 block just stick the heads on with 1.3" worth of washers/spacers in between. Otherwise just about any of your local parts importers will have a 351 block or short kicking around. Pete. |

Do not I repeat do not try Beaudesert wreckers. Those conts ripped me off on mine. It had sludge 10 mm thick all over the inside, compression test wouldn't even hit 50psi and when I rang them about it they told me to fock off.

yeah that sludge is from lack of oil changes, smells kinda funky too. i would get a block from a wrecker or summit but they would charge an arm and a leg, with a carton of piss and 3 ribs, just for the fact that its a v8 block.
thanks for info on addin the 1.3" of spacers man that should really make life easier cheers dude

My pleasure bushman, everything else is in the same place so it should work just fine. There is a mob in the U.S. making plastic 351 engines just for dummy up but I don't think they're very cheap. Oh and if you want to dummy up for a cleveland just use 1" worth of spacers on the same block and wack on the Cleveland heads. Pete. |

its a pretty standard 351, crane hyd cam, roller rockers, 2v heads, single plane and 650dp.
Its run a best of 13.94 as it is, to get better 1/4 mile times it needs more stall, as its only got a 2200rpm converter to give more control during burnouts / driving events as that is what I originally built it for. Still, it leaves a stock BA xr8 a few metres behind it over the 1/4 |

yeah you can bring the engine forward, i set it that far back because i wanted to use the original tailshaft. By brining the motor forward more, you will need a longer tailshaft.
