i have a el fairmont ghia v8 which has hm stainless headers ceramic coated high flow cats and a hm 2 1/2 in single sports exhausts. but its not very loud. i am happy with the headers and cats but the rest seems to be lacking. so i ask the patrans of ford forums what systems do you have. im in the sydney area so if you got it in another state then its no good unless its bolt on. i wont it loud and with that unmistakable v8 note but still legal. your help well be apricated

a bloke i know had twin 2 1/2" through lukey ultra flows, dunno how legal it was, but it sounded awesome... maybe twin 2 1/4" would be better though, still through the lukey ultra flow mufflers :)

Has the sports 2 1/2 got 2 mufflers or one? if it has two remove the rear muffler and replace with a staight pipe. The redback systems have an option of muffler or no muffler in the rear section. I had the no muffler version and it was very loud, a bit too loud for me so i has a resy fitted and now its great, stoped the drone!

As Neal said if yours has 2 mufflers get rid of one, a 2.5" system can sound very nice is it has the right muffler. Otherwise Lukey do an off the shelf 3" system which I think sounds really nice and cost around $500.

Definately Single muffler. I've got a redback 2.5" system.
I only get a droning problem cruising at 100, as soon as you get that extra couple of hundred revs on board to 110, the drone dissipates.
Also tried the hotdog resonator, which sounded alright, but seeing as the Sprint isn't my daily driver anyway, I can live with a bit of droning as a tradeoff for an awesome roar at 5 grand :D
I'd be interested in that 3" if he was in Vic...
