What is the best option for increased power without spending thousands?

Intake manifold is the cheapest decent power mod.

Best mods for the least would be a good set of extractors, a freeflow exhaust and a high-flow air filter with a high flow intake pipe. Can all be done for around the grand mark.

If its your AU I'd say either a exhaust with decent extractors for around 12-1400 or a flash tuner. AU's have reasonable heads and Intake so its just a matter of freeing up the restrictions elsewhere. A better tune would help too.

Apart from free stuff like bumping your base timing a couple of degrees and adjusting your TPS to 0.98 volts. The Best bang for the buck on 5.0's is underdrive pulleys and the reason is simple; they reduce parisitic losses over the entire rev range not just part of it.
Check out BPT in Wangara for a 3 piece set. Pete. |

Sorry, just realised you have an AU? Underdrives are not readily available for these unfortunately. You'll still be able to adjust your TPS but the timing increase will not be so easy because you need to make an adjustable bracket for your crank sensor. Probably better(easier but not so cheap) to get a custom tune where they will adjust both timing and fuel. Otherwise a cold air kit and extractors depending on which AU 5.0 you have?

Nitros will give you the best power for dollar spent but trash your engine, ide opt for intake and exhaust

1.72 roller rockers , extactors, k&n filter, SS induction kit. Or nitro like 409 said, good fun but not for long.

Auto or manual? 200 or 220kw? How much do you think you wanna spend?

Extractors are the best bang for buck. Got all the others but extractors still saw the biggest power increase.
