Hi im new to the forums but I have a 351 Cleveland that I want to use in a project car at a later date. I just have a few questions because im not really sure about a few things. But here's what i'd like to do, stroke the engine to 408ci and fit an 6/71 supercharger.
The things I need to know are what sort of heads should I use, what size carbies, and the other essentials to create a functional combo. Many thanks Kyle. |

If it were me and I wanted to stay at cleveland deck height; I would use a dart or world 9.2" deck block, Scat crank and rods, custom pistons from the likes of Diamond,CP,Wiseco etc. CHI 3V 218 heads and a custom intake to suit but then I wouldn't use a 6/71. I'd use a whipple, autorotor or Eaton.
If you want to use an actual cleveland. Try to find the latest model block you can ie; something from the 80's. Make sure it's std. bore. Fit a restrictor kit and find someone who can actually(not just tell you they will) torque plate bore and hone it at the smallest oversize possible....custom pistons will allow this. Do a 4 bolt conversion and/or use a girdle. Everything else would still be the same. Then get a good damper like an ATI or Innovators west. If you really want a 6/71 these guy's have intakes etc... http://www.hamptonblowers.com/PRICE.HTML http://blowerdriveservice.com/cart/ymm. ... ord=blower http://www.dyersblowers.com/187/1667.html http://www.alsblowers.com/theblowershop ... tonkit.htm http://www.superchargerusa.com/ford_bk_ ... m#351cford |

15 ayy.... I started dreaming, planning my ultimate car at about that age and i can say the goals have changed many times since then. Make sure you work your way up the horsepower charts, dont just jump into a 600+hp monster from the 4 cyl excel youve been driving so you could afford to build it on apprentice wages because you'll kill yourself. I'm 26 and just starting to get somewhere with my build
Good luck with the build it'll be a weapon Cheers, Matt
