depending on how extreem you want to go, as there are a few ways of doing it, I think there's a setup on ebay right now for a 8x50mm tb's, manifold, wiring & computer for around the $2000 mark don't know if injectors were included but I saw it a couple of days ago, so it may be over, just look up manifolds in cars boats & bikes.
injected clevo ,good combo when tuned right & try Injection Perfection in sydney, I hear they have done a few clevo's now

injection is alot of money by the time you set it up when you can buy a edelbrock or a well built quadrajet carb for e few hundred dont underestamate a quadrajet.

Am starting to lean towards a carb, as I have been pricing up injection parts and systems. Yeah, they are a bit beyond me at the moment.... |

A well tuned carby with electronic ignition works well!!!!
ICE Ignitions in melbourne is one of the best.... There was a company in Sydney called Active performance that made a twin throttle body injection manifold....not sure if they still around but it looked really nice and worked well, i think they used to work in with EMS or injection perfection worth talking to but expensive.....i was thinking about it a while back Now i got custom build 700holley with 4 cnr idle and it runs with perfect air fuel ratio almost as good as efi |

I think Ive made up my mind....dollars rule, and as much as I would like an injection set up........maybe later.
Need to know now, if I can keep the BTR 4 stage auto. Would it handle the torque of a nicely tuned 8, and if so, being computer controlled, would I be able to keep the engine computer just for the tranny? |

i have seen some good results from the holley throttle body injection on stock to mild motors.
fairly cheap to buy compared to multi point and not much more than a carby |

Hey, xr9ute.
What did an EFI system like that set you back (if you dont mind me asking)? Also, is it all custom, or can you buy those parts? |

Cost? this should give you some idea;
5.0 Falcon harness and sensors $100 5.0 Falcon or Mustang EECIV $220 5.8 or 7.5L TFI distributor(the 7.5L one will drop straight in...the 5.8L requires a distributor gear change) $250-$500 5.0 or 5.8 fuel rails $20? Injectors $200-$800(depends on power level) MAF $150- $400(depends on power level) T-body $100+ (depends on power level) Fuel pump $100+(depends on power level) TwEECer $780-$970 (may not be required at all for mild engines) The intake is just a modified single plane carb job(Offy port-o-sonic) and the plenum is custom fabricated from sheet ally. A better option would be to modify an Edelbrock Victor 5.8 or TFS 351 intake to fit like Thomas did..... http://www.detomaso.nu/~thomast/efi/ These intakes provide much better low end torque than the single plane that I used. I only used the single plane because at the time the only available 351w EFI intake was the Ford GT40 which does not have a large enough runner cross-section for a tough Cleveland. So it looks like a minimum of $1500 for the EFI bits to get you going plus the TwEECer if you need it. Figure on about $1000 for the 351w EFI intake like the Edelbrock #3887 http://edelbrock.carshopinc.com/product ... 20183/3887 plus $300-$500 for mods. That puts you at about $3000-$4000. Of course you can likely save a bit on that by buying a complete 2nd hand EFI engine or wreck with all the stuff on it. If you buy a 5.0 you won't be able to use the distributor(smaller body and smaller oil pump drive) but everything else you can and if it's from a Falcon you'll have all your BTR trans wiring as well. You can use the BTR auto but it will need some beefing up to handle a cleveland. You can use the BTR controller from an EB-EL Falcon stand alone if you don't go the EFI route. You'll need to fit a TPS to the carby amongst other things. Pete. |

I have a clevo. I like something different....not too many people have cleveland powered EAs..... No wuckers....always happy to help those who don't take the common route. Ive worked on a couple of 351w powered EB's and I have seen one EA 351C(amazingly with a thermoquad and registered) and an EF 351C drag car. I believe only one pipe needs to be modified on a set of X series Falcon pacemaker headers for clearance of the steering shaft. You may also want to consider a 4R70 trans from the U.S. This can easily withstand a mild 351C in stock form and you can use a '94-'95 5.0 Mustang EECIV which will run both your engine and trans. The TwEECer will allow you to dial the whole thing in...including your trans. Pete. |
