Hey guys, just thought id post up what I have been doing the last few nights after work.
Fitted a ported cobra intake, (Matched to Felpro 1250 gasket) 65mm throttle body and 70mm egr spacer. Painted up the Cobra intake. Painted the standard rocker covers black, Then decided to grab a set of these. Cal Custom jobies. Buggered around with them for 2 days. Needed longer bolts to fit them as they are really thick. The drivers side rocker cover hit on the alternator so had to drill out the holes a little for some adjustment. THEN!! Went to put the Cobra intake on, and found the oil filler fouled on it.!! FARRRK So next day had the filler neck cut down and re-welded on an angle. Got the car running tonight. It runs great. However i cannot adjust the TPS.. Im getting 0 reading on my multimeter no matter how much i adjust the TPS. So ill get this sorted soon. Apart from that, it runs great. I also have a set of GT40p's and a TFS1 Cam sitting here. One day ill get around to doing this. But i threw the manifold on because i wanted to finally get something done from all the stuff i bought! Was the first time i have attempted anything like this on an EFI V8, (ugh so much harder to work on then a good old caby'd ford!). Anyways, im sure you guys have seen all of this done before, just thought i would post it up anyway. |

did you put the rockers covers on back the fron form what they are originally?
Could you supply pics of where the cobra manifold fouled on filler? And have you got pics of final product? Good work though matey. I have cobra manifold, gt40p heads, and E303 cam here waiting to go in. So just after some info on install.

Hey. The black covers you see there are the original covers that i painted black. (The next day i found some billet allumium ones and bought them isntead). It was the aftermarket billet ones i bought that did hit and needed modifying.
I will clean it all up and get some decent pics this weekend. Here is a crappy shot anway. |

This might sound silly but was the TPS plugged in?
Turn key to on position and adjust from there. |

Take it off and adjust the input with a screwdriver and see if you get a reading. You may have put it on squiff.

Good stuff Stevo. Good to see you finally playing with the EL. Im sure you'll have a noticeable difference over the HO manifold and std T/B.
Pretty sure you could have swapped sides for those covers and had the filler at the back on the passenger side. But oh well, its all sorted now and looks great under there. Where are you taking your TPS voltage readings from? Is your ignition turned on, not jus accessories?

Hey mate. Tried that but the filler neck was slightly more inward on these then standard covers. So it looked like it might be in the way of the TB/Intake pipe.
I have followed the instructions on this forum for the TPS, as well as various other stang forums. So im either stupid, or its just not working lol. Pin in green wire, pin in black wire. Red probe onto green, black probe onto black. If i set it to DCV 20 it shows nothing, if i set it to DCA 20 it shows like 14.00 And yeah, its no rocket but noticble difference for the quick fang around the block. |

Yeah heads and cam are stock at the moment.
Impovement with the underdrives? or the intake and tb? Underdrives not much, just revs easier. Intake- well ive only driven it a little bit lastnight but you can notice a difference. Obviously it aint anything near quick, the heads are terrible. I have gt40ps and a tfs1 cam sitting in storage. One day ill get around to throwing that stuff on hopefully. |

I got the manifold off a ford forums member who put it on ebay a while ago. He had it ported already before i got it.
There are plenty of au explorer manifolds for sale. keep your eye out in the for sale section , (im pretty sure there is 1 if not more for sale at the moment!) and also over on fordforums. |

TPS - SORTED!
Guess what? Pins with plastic ends dont work hahah. Im so stupid. Im embarrased. Swapped to needles and i got a reading straight away. All fixed now. However! Is the reading on both of the TPS' suppose to be under 1v? |
