Get a phenolic spacer for it. Reduce intake temps.
http://www.norcom.net.au/~bpt/Phenolic%20Spacer.htm Scroll down to see the spacer. |

I got 1 from blueovalindustries in the states. It was for the Typhoon. Only took 5 days to get here and with the dollar being so high at the moment it is the perfect place to buy.

So because its a cobra manifold (same lower as explorer yeah?) , i would need the AU spacer (Falcon AU 5.0L 220kW 12mm Phenolic Spacer.) ? Is that right?
Being 12mm, whats the chance of it fowling on the bonnet? Or would i need something 1" before i started worrying about that. Alright then, so this phenolic spacer would come with gaskets then? Or am i still in the same position of needing one? hehe |

Yup the cobra is the same as the explorer with the port location.
Yes you would need a AU spacer. I am running a 1/2" and have no probs with fowling in a EF. With the spacer you wil need longer bolts for the manifold, gaskets as well.

if you do buy a phelonic spacer make sure it comes with longer bolts as this will make life alot easier. try summit or even raceparts, prety sure they stock the spacer with longer bolts and gaskets.

I have used silastic on mine with no probs except for the clean-up if you pull it apart.
Let it dry for 24hrs after assembly though! |
