Either go to Ford or go to a reputable spares place and get one that is compatible - they should have listings of what is acceptable.

no don't "just use the green stuff" Ford put it there for a reason.
buy the right stuff from Ford. i am sick of a car coming into work with the wrong coolant that was "just put in there" by a small time mechanic and it causes the owner more trouble than it's worth. Corrosion, screwed water pumps etc

Never mix coolant types. if your not sure what it is, your best off dumping the lot and renewing the entire system with approved coolant.

The Ford one is s**t...

So s**t the Ford guys don't use it here...

Ford stuff is usually pink... It seeps though all the hose and seems to kill them...

Ford guys here use the Green Nissan coolant... Seems to last good... I test mine all the time and seem to get around 4 years out of it... Doesn't seep through rubber hoses... The Nissan one is an anti-freeze, anti-boil, anti- something else too I think... :?

Each to their own but if it were me I'd steer clear of the pink Ford one...

Cheers,
Tim

all the new cars at my work also come out of the factory with yellow coolant which specs state lasts for 3 years,
when replaced the coolant we replace it with is 15year coolant,
i've tested this coolant that has been in a car for 6 years and the readings are still spot on, so i presume some truth to their claims

I use Tectaloy90 in mine. If you flush the system never ever use tap water to do it. Australian water is the worst water(hard) in the world to use in cooling systems. Use only distilled/demineralised water even when flushing unless you know you can get all the water out.
I know of a particular car where the guy flushed the system with tap water, then used good coolant only to find the manifold eaton after 8 months.
