Hey all,
Ive got a ba mk2 xr8 in 4sp auto. Its currently stock but i wanna do some work to it. ive been doing alot of research on what my options are with this car. Its seems like the diff ratios is a must. i want to get them done but i am stuck between the 3.7 and the 4.11. i was told the 3.7 is a good all rounder, but it seems like everyones got the 4.11, i was told that with the 4.11 the car would see alot more wheel spin than the 3.7 thus burning more rubber. i want to get the most out of the car so anyone with their thoughts or experiences on this would be great thanks all. |

id stick with the 3.45's. The ba xr8's have more down low and rev limit a little early. My opinion anyway.
Alot can be made from exhaust, flash tune and intake. Then there are under drive pulleys and throttle body. |

I thought the 4V's were a pig down low...

if its a daily - I'd hate to see your petrol bill with the 4.11 gears......

the last diff centre i seen was in a Force 6 and it was 2:75
so 3:27 or 3:45's could a good thought ......

I don't agree with your opinion on the ba having more down low, that is there handicap and anyone that drives a ba xr8 will tell you this. however valid points made with the rest of the mods. |

3.46 is stock so a 3.7 is a good choice.
2.73 is used behind 6spd auto's because they have a really low first gear of around 4.17:1. |

tes sorry, i more meant the ba xr8's rev cut too early, so would need a veryquick shifting auto with 4.1's

Hey everyone, I've got a mate that's selling a 3:9 diff ratio out of his xr6 and was wondering if it would be just a matter of removing the yoke from my xr8 and throwing the 3:9 in without doing too much else like modifications as such. Or can you just throw in the entire diff even though I have an IRS setup with LSD compared to the xr6

The whole diff, Turbos run an M86(8.6" ring gear) like the V8's but the std sixes run a piddly M78(7.8" ring gear). |
