They will both be the same motor, running the same accessories, the only possible difference would be the cam but even them nothing to brag about.
However, if one is from an EL2 it will have the explorer manifold which means it will be the 185kw verson. |

They were all pretty much the same engine except for the EL 2 as jeff stated.... But then you have the EB GT, ED XR8 Sprint, EL GT which had 200 kw, and the FBT which had 195 from memory.
It wasn't until the AU that they really started to bump up the power. |

AU I XR8 has 185Kw. The AU II was more, and they started to put a little plate on the right hand rocker cover to say who assembled the engine with the guys signature as well. I think they were 200Kw.

All 5.0 untill ELII had E7TE heads, including ELII. ELII got B303 cam and explorer manifold. ELII power came up to 185kw with explorer manifold, cam and ELGT extractors only difference. Has orange 19lb inj, 63mm T/B and common all E Series small MAF FBT was first car built in Aust with GT40P heads. Has ELGT extractors, explorer manifold, ELGT extractors, B303, ELGT tune etc which includes 65 T/B, 70MAF Blue 24lb etc. EBGT, ELGT have GT40 heads, B303, GT40 tubular manifold, 24lb inj, 65/70 intake. ELGT has ceramic tubular extractors. AU1 is basically FBT engine, but with different front dress, and are easilly recognisable. They run EV6 injectors though, which are noticeably thinner than all other Bosch EV1 injectors on earlier cars. |

I dont think any of them used a B-303 cam, as they are not an emission compliant cam in the US not recommended for use with auto's without a larger stally.
I've run a B-303 previously in an engine, and it was way rougher than any tickford engine's that i've ever heard. If anything it would have been an E-303 at the most. Much smoother idle note & better bottom end power.
