The engine is essentially the same but the engine management and accessories are different. Coil pack, CPS & crank sensor v's dizzy and coil. AU intake is better but has no IAT sensor hole in #5 runner, and no EGR provision. CT sensor has a different plug. Heads are better but spark plug angle is different so your headers will make spark plug removal a problem (just use platinum or iridum plugs with 100,000 mile change interval). Overall a worthwhile upgrade but not a straight bolt-up.

Yes but you'll need an E-series Balancer and there maybe enough width in the AU water pump pulley to be able to maintain it's use....otherwise you'll need an E-series water pump too.

probly seems like a silly question, but does it make any difference to things like the steering rack (ie: different sump or something similar)? I'm assuming the ef k frame will be fine with the au motor

Nope sumps are the same.

The AU water pump pulley shaft is a little shorter than the E-series water pump pulley shaft. But I don't remember any other differences from memory so E-series accessories will bolt up just fine.
