Thinking of buying a 98 5L LTD. Any info from other owners, good or bad would be appreciated.

I have a nl fairlane ghia which Iam very happy with. Had SLS problems, Replaced rear shokes with pedders air/hydrulic shokes. $500 and wired compresor up to manual switch so I can adjust ride height.
Great interier, leather cd stacker, abs, cruise, factory tint, power windows & mirrors, cruises at 9 - 10 liters/ 100, climate control, motor is strong & reliable. All over a good car for my money. What else does an ltd have?

yeah i have a lane ghia 5ltr, it is a great car, has everything you need or would want in it. the only prob it has is its extra weight and the diff gears, but the diff can be changed. And petrol will be costly if you drive it in traffic.
they are a great car though, well worth the money.

I have a NL Fairlane Concorde, and an NL Fairlane By Tickford and both are great cars. Admittedly my FBT has done very few k's but the Concorde is my wifes car, and its nearly on 190k now and no problems there.
Basically just like a Falcon in mechanical work, and SLS suspension is best left disconnected. |

Thanks for the info on the SLS. Is it simple to disconnect? Looks like I'll be buying the car. First stop the exhaust shop though. What size system would be the best?

What size system would be the best? sounds like a great car to own.. twin 2.5 inch system would allow the great v8 grumble/rumble to be heard better.. loving the look of and sounds of a hotted up v8 Fairlane...

Nothing beats an LTD, quite the pimpin selection. They've got all the leather, wood and electronics that all the E-series owners strive to install in their Falcons and Fairmonts and a 302W ready for some cheap bolt on performance. Also legroom and comfort in the back always gets noticed by passeners.
