I have a LTD v8 auto manufactured 12/95. I was thinking of fitting 3.45 diff gears but I remember back in the day reading that v8 LTDs got the 3.45s?
The performance tests back in the day had its acceleration on par with the swb cars including xr8. I find that hard to beleive considering weight. Under the car it says lsd but no ratio.

I FIND IT EVEN HARDER-BARGE,3.08 or 3.23,but my DF runs 3.08 same as xr8,I6 ran 3.45 i think

no way they are 3.08...
I previously had an el 5.0 and i fitted 3.45s to it and i dont feel like the ltd goes any different. they must be 3.23s or 3.45s.

It will have a 3:23 in it. When I had my Lane I upgraded to the 3:45 and there was a noticable difference on take off but not enough to worry fuel economy on the highway which was good.
Also the diff came out of a EF XR6 Sedan.

Only the Tickfords got the 3;45 final drive...
Std EF / EL's got 3.08 EB Xr8's have 3.27 final drives.. Imo a 3;45 would get it moving without sacrificing economy.. 3;7's would be better with larger dia wheels..Which most fit these days..

I've been searching for some for a while. And I presume I can just buy a speedo cog to suit from the US? |
