Hey guys with my ED V8 what are some small mods can I do to increase power on a budget?
The car has an exhaust already unsure what it is but want to upgrade the extractors and the exhaust but dont know what size I should go 2.5" or 3"? Another thing is put a polished intake pipe on it to add some "bling" to the bay would the standard throttle body be fine or can polishing the inside make any improvement? What cams would be suitable? nothing to big and lumpy just an extra kick i have a K&N panel filter coming soon for it for better air flow, A bigger trans cooler to keep that in order and would love to put a adjustable shift kit in it as well. Can you guys give me a few pointers and hints? cheers Brett |

heads and intake. Start looking around for AU GT40p's and an explorer intake manifold. Set of hurricane extractors, 2.5" twin system.
But heads and intake. If your already in there, throw a bigger stick in the valley as well, a set of 1.7 roller rockers will help as well.

don't worry about the throttle body spacer, you will be better off with a phelonic spacer betwen the upper and lower ½ of the intake manifold, try to keep some of the engine temp out of the upper resulting in a slightly cooler air charge.
Spacers between the manifold and throttle body are refered to as helix spacers, the idea of them is to disrupt the airflow as it enters the manifold, So there needs to be some consideration on whe internal shape of the helix spacer Herrod make/made them for the 302, there is a very mixed feedback about them, but there are much better things to spend some coin on in relation to getting a power gain.

Put an au air flow senser on it. Bout $120.

The MAF only measures air in, not temp. But it will lean it out a bit. Best to check AFR's on a dyno to make sure its not too lean if fitting one.
