It seems my timing cover has finally corroded out on my v8,do the earlier carbied windsor timing covers fit coz ive heard they are very expensive to buy new from ford?

not sure bout older ones fitting or not but get on to RACE PARTS in QLD, i think i paid about $160 plus freight, better than fords $800 trade price

Nope, early covers are for std rotation pumps. You need to get one for EB-AU. Or get the Explorer type from Ford racing. I think KC make after market ones too.
BTW F-series or '88-'93 mustang covers are not correct either.

Just spoke to michelle at race parts and got a price of 275 for a genuine ford timing cover,that she took out of a kit.should be here thursday.By the way i wouldnt buy an aftermarket kilkenny castings unit because the two i looked at were dodgy because they both had holes machined in them for the front seal off centre which would cause leaking and premature wear on the balancer. :lol:

s**t thats cheap, like real cheap. a new one from ford is about $900 retail.

good to hear ya got on to a cover mate. they must have done me a favour with the price cos they said they had one in stock but didnt so i had to wait a week or so. gota love ford spare parts price list lol.
