Does the fuel pump operate when key is turned on, first 5 seconds or so ???
Check fuel pressure at schrader valve on fuel rail ?? Could be fuel pump relay ?? Under battery. the green one... Check coil / ignition.. Check relays nr battery.. Check battery connections including earth's.. Check fuses ??

likely TFI or coil - very common

Said TFI on the other forum...If same car..
If it doesn't turn over or start ?? If starter motor doesn't operate then it's either stuffed battery, bad battery connections.. Or the [red] wire to starter motor solenoid may have come off or high resistance connection..

One of these off the side of dissy..
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BRAND-NEW-FO ... 35b8cd9f41 Take #1 plug out put finger or wet rag over plug hole and carefully turn engine over... When there's air pushing out plug hole...Check how far timing mark is away from mark on harmonic balancer.. Then take dissy cap off and check if rotor is under # 1 plug lead !!! If not there's some serious issues.. Like cam chain failure etc... That's timing looked at.. ; Next is to pull fuel pump fuse or pull connector under fuel pump cover in boot.. Turn engine over two or three times... Disconnect fuel line to fuel reg and place the hose in clear bottle such as coke bottle... Put power [fuse or connecter back] turn key off and on for 5 seconds each time... There should be a few 100 ml of fuel pumped each time reds are turned on.. If no fuel ?? Check if power is getting to fuel pump at the pump connector.. Then work your way from fuel pump relay etc back.. DOUBLE check all the relays on inner guard and between battery & header tank .. From memory the green one is the fuel relay...?? ; Check all earth's including the one on injector loom on left bank and the earth near EEC / ECU under left foot panel.. ; First you need to diagnose whether it's mechanical, electrical or fuel related.. I guess it's turning over and NOT starting ???

TFI is the grey module on the side of the dizzy. Dizzy car's, both 6 & 8cyl run them. That & the pickup inside are prone to failure when they get old. Either failing can cause the car to have no spark.
Before testing the fuel system, does it have any spark at all? I've seen E series car's have spark on cranking but still won't start, turned out to be ECU relay had crapped out. Cheers ToranaGuy
