Hey people,
I've put the au xr8 intake manifold on my eb and can't get the tps from the eb to screw up to it proply so I shoved it on there for now but it's not good. I see the au tps has only one plug very dif to the eb is there a way to use the au tps on the eb. Also now as ya slow down to stop eg come up to stop lights it clunks down gears and holds them longer changing up. It was very smooth before I changed the manifold. |

im guessing your eb is auto? does it have 2 tps?
if yours has 1 tps you can cut and wire in the au tps and it will work. not to sure if you can split the signal from the au one.. afaik the eb tps should screw to au throttle body, but I could be wrong.. otherwise you can use the eb throttle body on the au manifold. the clunking and holding gears is because the tps is probably in the wrong position.. |

Yeah it's auto with 2 tps.
That's a bugga that means I gotta go back to the 60mm tb instead the au 70mm. Cheers heaps for helping. |

Only the 220kw au has the 70mm throttle body. Does it have the tickford wings on it?

The 2 TPS's are one for the ECU, and the other is for the TCU.....same as early EA 3.9 MPFI with 4 sp auto.

You need to slot the Tps for an AU throttle on E Series. I've done it.

I've got the EL tps on my au throttle body. You need to grind out the tps holes to get enough adjustment, and from memory you might have to grind a little bit off the throttlebody shaft at the top where the tps sits on to get it to sit flat.
You also need to check the tps voltage. I had to grind the slots out nearly as far as they would go to get the correct voltages. Top one should be no higher than 0.98 v and bottom one for the auto around 0.8v. |

Ok cheers NLGHIA5.0 ill do that. I set the top and bottom tps to .98v and noticed the auto wasn't right so the bottom one is to do with the auto touchy little suckers!

Better off having a look at which TPS is plugged into the engine loom, because that is the engine TPS and the other one will be the Auto TPS.

it doesnt matter. they are both the same tps. just one is used for transmission kne is for engine ecu..
so you can swap the plugs around ... |
