alrite boys,
its time to rebuild the tired old v8, i was thinking about completely stripping it, replacing pistons with acl variants, new afr alloy heads or gt-40 heads, what do you think? and cam package? i will probly buy a new edelbrock manifold, new injectors, etc
any advice would be very much appreciated!

How old is the engine. For most people, money is a limiting factor. I suggest stay with stock 5.0L bottom end. Aim for torque. Custom cam, look at flow tech inductions from the states. AFR165s, 1.6 Rockers, 4.11 gears, performer/ported cobra/explorer intake. T5?

Since the car in question is an EB, the bottom end is more than likely fitted with stock forged pistons. Unless they are worn enough that fresh rings & a light hone won't do the trick, don't change them just for the sake of it. The rotating assembly will probably outlast the block once you start chasing more power.

As for the rest, it's not as simple as bolting on a few brand name bits & hoping for the best, or blaming one part for dissapointing performance. All the parts need to work in harmony. Head choice will affect intake choice will affect cam choice will affect injector choice etc. You tell us what you want the car to do most of the time (ie. where you drive) & what you can afford to spend & then we can suggest combos.

Better yet, buy a copy of Ford 5.0L Dyno Tests by Richard Holdener. It's got more expertise than you could possibly want.

If you're aiming for 350KW then you'd better start looking at forced induction and a dart block.

Also don't expect your BTR 4sp to last long

no forced induction, i want it kept n/a, want the most amount of power possible, while being still quite reliable, i just want to know what combo would be the best for a street car, the lumpier, rougher the better, i dont want it to be a nice drive, just go like a bull pumped up on steroid's

check out clampys rebuild and timmith also the new one, they will be in the 300-350 plus bracket,is the motor going to be a daily driver, what fuel are u going to use---set up compression ratio, rev range and torque band for cam--then compare grinds\specs this will determine heads -intake-exhaust next will be transmission upgrades to handle the ponies,as you just 2x the stock hp output--start breaking parts.
