I thought the Cobra's where 65mm ??
In any case they are calibrated different to other Ford maf's.. Although they run 24's you may get by running 19's ?? As the Cobra maf Transfer function has different calibration and you have issues mixing there electronics.. If you keep the 19Lb std EEC..??? Pete will assist you better on part #'s etc...

Sprint/GT/Cobra/AU 5.0 all use a 70mm MAF which is what you see in that ebay ad.
It's the t-body thats 65mm. You can get away with using them because they fairly similar to the HOs' 55mm MAF in their transfer function at the low end of the scale. They flow more air at the top end of the scale which usually helps lean out the factory richness at the top end. You will also gain slightly because load calculation is also lowered therefore your spark advance will be slightly higher. Just make sure you keep the rest of your fuel system in top condition otherwise it could be dangerous to your engine. |

Wouldnt if just be a better idea to use the sensor from your 55mm MAF in that MAF housing? Thats what I did with my EL and it runs fine.

Yes because the sensors themselves are no different. The plugs are different but the effect is the same.

Sorry to steal the thread but I must ask something as I am trying to get my head around the Windsor mods because I have only recently moved up the food chain from the I6. I purchased a standard AU1 Ghia V8. Are you saying this runs a 65mm TB and a 70mm MAF? I am eventually looking at getting about 175-180rwkw from it via snorkel, full exhaust, 1.6rockers, cam, flash tune and maybe a slight port of the GT40's. With this setup would I be best keeping the standard maf and upping the TB to a 70mm?
