Don't worry the gates one will fail earlier.
I'm pretty impressed, my original Ford one in my ED lasted 17 years. |

Drops nearly all of the fluid out if the low pressure return banjo joint below the harmonic balancer. Is there an o ring in there I can fix it with? To add insult to injury, the heater tap decided to let go also - broke off in my hand when I was moving some of the wiring about in the engine bay. I tell you I still have the 20-odd litres of s**t fuel here and I am sure this POS EB will make a great bonfire. The plastic Fraud one is so brittle it crumbles in your hand. Obviously Fraud likes to see us back in their workshops getting s**t fixed due to inferior parts. I have ordered a new one from Gates and will arrive in Toowoomba in the morning - apparently the rep said the fraud ones are notorious for leaking and the plastic is not designed for the high heat of an engine bay...good on you Henry T Motherf*cker. More time under the bonnet - will let you know how I go. yeah, the heater tap cost me a 302 rebuild-cooked,ande after many tries by my fordmods mates, you cant do anything with the hoses,so now i carry a spare new one.

It just s**t me when you get the planets aligned and all is going well, something else happens!!! The mini was/is nowhere near as problematic as this POS XR8 let me give you the drum. Ford even told me to go aftermarket - $84 at the dealer and $22(gates)at Repco. I will be taking your advice and buying two!! |

I just replaced my heater tap, which appears to be the same as a VN to VY V6's. (four way - half inch hose)
I also had to replace the 5/16 BSPT female fitting with the 1/4 hose tail on the back of the left cylinder head, up the back near the PCV valve. It crumbled
