well it costs plenty to make these things move
b.p.t under drive pulleys $280 for the race kit i think (good bang for buck)
good second hand explorer manifold and a good second hand set of gt40p heads, should be able to pick both of these up for round a grand if ya look hard enough. it all depends on how much $$$$$ you want to spend and how crazy you want to go on it

as mentioned the ideal set up will cost a lot of money. gt40p heads, explorer intake etc. if you are not familiar with these products they are factory from au or ed sprint.

however you can get it going ok with std heads and manifold but will still require money. my eb has ported heads and intake, cam, 3.9lsd diff, mafless tune and aftermarket computer. makes about 160rwkw which is about the limit for the stock heads and intake. a lot of the performance is in the gearing as well. does a flat/low 14 sec 1/4. i bought my car with the work already done so can't give you much of an idea on pricing but if i was to do it and had the heads and intake off to port them, i wouldn't waste my time putting them back on but would definitely go the gt40p/explorer combo. quite a few of these floating around at the moment.

G'day mate and welcome to fordmods.

Is it manual or auto?

How much do you want to spend and what do you want to get out of it?
Let us know this and it will make it easier for us to help ya out.

that sort of money would get you a HCI(heads cam intake) combo that should see you with 250-300hp at the wheels depending on the cam choice.

some of that money will be going to minor parts like maf, injectors, throttlebody, tuning etc..

ie,
edelbrock perf. heads - 2100
au explorer intake+tb - 600
s/h maf from corral - 150
s/h injectors from corral - 150
cam - 500
roller rockers - 500
capa chip - 700
tuning - 400

preliminary total = 5100.. so if ur smart ul keep it between 5 and 6k..

Are you able to do all the work yourself or will you need to pay for someone to do the labour on the job?

Alright 5-6k on the motor including labour. Something like this would be nice.

GT40P heads - 700
Explorer Manifold - 500
Cam - 400
R/rockers - 500
V/springs - 250
Head Gaskets - 75ea x 2
Timing chain - 130
Gaskets(inl' manifold, t/coveretc) - ~150
TwEECer + tune - 1500
Labour you'd probly end up paying $1000 plus for depending on where you go.
All that and you'd probly end up with some change out of 6k for things like bigger maf housing, 65mm t/b etc, and maybe even high stall and tranny cooler.
Depending on cam choice will make a very nice combo on the street.
