i assume it could run std unleaded or premium..
but it all comes down to where and when the heads were made/built and if they had or have hardened valve seats fitted... |

Premium definately mate.
I reckon it would be safe on its own as the yanks have had unleaded since 76 so pretty much everything now would be unleaded ready. I would be inclined to push a flash lube setup on it anyway to be certain. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-FLASH-LUBE-V ... 27b84cad9a

All aftermarket heads are designed to run with unleaded fuel.

We use the Morey's upper cylinder lube kit on all our LPG vehicles, and it works really well. It would be ideal for your thing, with alloy heads and hardened seats. The edelbrock heads dont have the best valves available in them, but they are still good quality. A bit of extra lube, along with the good fuel, will help them a lot. If you can fit the lube kit, I would go that way, just tuck it out of the way down the back somewhere. There should be enough vacuum ports on the back of the manifold/carb to get you going.

{USERNAME} wrote: Nope, not a word of anything. The cops saw it as a set-up by the guy selling the car to my mate but they couldn't prove anything. My mate got paid out from his insurance and has bought another which arrived in the country last week. Its just held up at customs at the moment. Apparently there is one guy there who is known to be a hassle and is doing his best to do just that. Yep seen that before. I know of someone who did an insurance job on a '69 stang but I haven't got proof either, otherwise I would have dobbed the C*** in! What, customs holding someone to ransom!? Nooo that'd never happen |

That happened to my brothers' mate. They told him it was ready then changed their mind 4 times. Each time he travelled from Albany to Perth to do this and he even wasted 3 weeks holiday in Perth and had to go home without it!?! f**k pricks!!!!

Nice.
Has it got all the original parts with it, and is it an original R-code car? Is it manual? |

The car will be quick Ash but I was saying you'll be having fun quicker than me...I still have to build mine! I'm in the process of converting to right hand drive at the mo. Mine is an S-code(390) and the plan is to use Edelbrock or Blue Thunder heads and a Scat kit for somewhere between 410 and 445ci. I have an Algon Medium riser Mechanical injection manifold that I'll modify for EFI.

I'm the same Ash...I wish I'd bought a ready made car too but, saying that, i've had a lot of fun with the other cars I've "wasted" my time on
I did a lot research on the available suspension for these cars and I think I've made the right decision.....It's super high quality! I've driven quite a few left hook cars(mainly with work) and whilst it's a novelty at first it becomes a pain in the a*** to drive for any length of time....you get sick of looking down the gutter to overtake for a start. Luckily TCP finally did a right hook power rack for these cars, so that made the decision easy. I wish I could have the car going by the end of the year but realistically it's probably going to be longer because I'm doing everything myself. |
