Hi every one im new to this.
Im in the uk and have put a fairmont ef 5.0 efi with the 4deg ecu into a mercury comet.
I am only running the engine ecu and have fitted a aod transmission from a american lincoln so have cut the original trans ecu and a/c and body moduel out off the loom .. first problem was the smart lock / mobiliser so i purchased a stage 2 j3 chip from ti performance.
The j3 arrived and the car started straight up it runs good but wont rev past around 3500rpm only way i can describe it is like it has a rev limiter at 3500rpm.
Im pretty stuck with this ..
What i want to know is .. is what i have done possible to work with out the old trans ecu and cut the ecu wiring down to a minimal .. any help will be very much appreciated thanks.

Could possibly be reverse gear torque truncation. Do you have VSS to the EEC?
