hey guys, i have a EF gli 4L and i'm putting a V8 out of a EL2 XR8 in it.
i no i have to swap the loom and all that but what other particular things need to be swapped? i haven't had a good look yet but do i need to swap: engine mounts? k frame? (ea-ed yes ef-el no)??? any other tips?? anyone no what these headers are?

Leave your crossmember in. Take off your dash and swap the wiring over(that thick loom that runs across the car, behind the dash). Transmission control module from the donor car and get the ECU too. You can use the 6cyl radiator. You will have to re-wire your thermo fan relay pack to suit the EL ECU as they only run 3 relays to your 4. More will come to my later.....

i have the other car so i can get all the bits off it.
i took the dash out but i haven't got the dash out of the 6cly yet to compare the two. do the wires fit through the firewall? the hole looks small but the plugs look big! shouldn't be to bad but all help is appreciated!

They are the factory EL GT style headers that the 185kw ELII and XHII's got.

hmm so standard headers, are they any good? it also has a twin 2inch exhaust with mufflers before the diff and a resinator after... would a sngle 3inch be better or is twin 2inch ok?
the engine is missing the isc, it has a 6cyl one on there so it'll run but its not plugged in. can the one off the 6 be used or do i need a v8 one?

ok i got it all in, but i didnt swap the loom that runs across the front of the car to the thermo's/battery/relays etc. they are different, but i was thinking it was because the xr8 had abs??
do i have to replace this? the car turns on but wont crank over... i tried the ecu reset thingo but that didnt work..

Does the key have a chip in it? got to pull it out and put it in the existing key. Sounds like the smartlock isn't disarming.

ok i tried the reset thing for an hour and it worked!

lol it sounded ok with only extractors on it! i got dad to do it as im at home, so i got to hear through the phone
i'm going to finish it off tomorrow cos i scammed the day off
