Can anyone tell me what this vacuum line for the EGR valve is, and what it does. The small rubber plug on the right of the EGR. It goes back to the firewall and then down into the passenger guard.
I want to delete the EGR valve when I fit my Explorer manifold as it has no provision for it in the EGR spacer. |

Touched on a heap of times. Goes to behind the washer bottle where the solenoid is to control the egr.
To delete you'll need to probably leave the solenoid plugged in to the ECU, but delete its vac fittings, plus you'll need to emulate the EGR Servo itself so that the ECU knows that its there and dead. Or a J3 chip to delete the EGR stuff completely Google EGR eliminator to find the info. Theres free versions everywhere Also look at TI Performance for a chip without the EGR code in it for not to much $$ Nigel |

heres what you need. You can apparently use a 3 pin XLR Connector to do the job. Total cost should then be under $10
To Bypass the actual Vacuum Solenoid (in the passenger side, behind the windscreen bottle) you'll need to get some 75 ohm 3w resistors (same as here...http://www.rjminjectiontech.com/collect ... t-resistor) I couldnt find them easily - so I just used ebay to get some cheap.. but prime electronics etc will have them (Jaycar wont - you need a better electrical store than that) Nigel |

I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy a quarterhorse and just turn all the egr settings off. Do it properly.
