PB of 15.88 - wasn't thrilled with it but......

pretty sure injectors could do with a clean cause it used to run on gas and pings a bit on unleaded fuel although fine on premium undleaded (timing was done). Also just a few weeks ago found one of the leads hanging off when we went to change the spark plugs so I have no idea how long it was running on 7 cylinders - could have been at Heathcote like that for all I know. So I'm looking forward to getting it dynoed and re-run down the 1/4, but i reckon i gained 20-30kw after hooking the lead back up!!!

s**t mate, when my laed was dodgy n came off it was running on 7 cyl which made it VERY rough n sounded like a POS tank that was 50years old n never tuned lol!
Couldnt miss it; which one was it? Mine was number 1 i think; s**t i cant remember the way the numbering goes right now..
:o

I think it was cylinder 6.....can't remember though. It didn't run that bad but it was pretty gutless, foot flat to the floor just didn't have much pickup.

The mods on it are pretty minimal, just k&n filter, pacemaker extractors, twin cats to a single 2 1/2" out the back with the rear muffler removed, el gt snorkel. Not doing much to it as its going to be stroked as soon as finances are avaiable so I don't want to go doing crappy mods to achieve 14's when hopefully its stroked and naturally asperated parts can get it into the 13's, otherwise underdrives and stuff will be a waste of money when it gets stroked.

After all that might go the supercharger - just have to see what happens

Yeah with underdrives and a powerchip i reckon you'd get pretty low 15's. Do these mods make much of a difference?

i felt the difference when i put the pulleys on, not sure how i'll go on the track, the powerchip better on the fuel, and more responsive on the go

Believe it or not I've actually come across heaps of 5 Litre EL Ghias with decent km's and at a reasonable price here in Melbourne. I'm currently looking for a 96 5 Litre EFII Fairmont to use as a donour car for my 4 Litre EFII Fairmont and can't bloody find one with decent km's. From what I've seen EFII And EL Fairmont Ghias seem to be readily available...

As previously suggested keep an eye out on tradingpost.com.au, uniquecarsales.com.au, carsales.com.au, drive.com.au, carpoint.com.au, carsguide.com.au and I assure you you'll find what you're looking for.

19k seems alot to me; if it were me id pay no more than 15,500- and thats with the el gt wheel!

They are nice cars, but there were made in mass numbers (to an extent) and still cant denie they are 7-10 years old at this stage.

I was looking around for my car for a good 4 months and suggest you do the same if you can, wait it out as the right one will come along..
I spent ages sussing it out n which one is worth the money then found one in sydney, well worth the flight/drive!
FBT, low kms for 17k; bargain? - i personally think yes.
