My el ghia has started running like it has a lumpy cam in it.

I've checked leads and plugs, throttle body is clean when I accelerate in park it seems normal, no misfire or anything.

Jumps between 450 and 800 is rpm

:( any ideas

Could be any number of things... Have you checked the maf sensor ? Or ecu reset? ISC and TPS would also be a go place to start being idle related or even fuel filter for that matter. Check the cheaper things before spending big dollars

checked a whole heap of things, replaced intake manifold gaskets because of having to remove it before to replace heater hoses, cleaned throttle body, checked maf sensor, replaced plugs and leads, problem seems to have gone, if i had to put money on it i would guess that it was a vacuum leak.

thanks for your help :)
