EL GTs got cast iron GT40 heads, only AU's and the NL FBT got GT40P's.

i see..... so without getting too technical what are the differences between GT40 and GT40P heads, ie which one is better, produces more power, and are they interchangeable ie do the same manifolds fit.

and are they better than el xr8 heads???

EB-EL V8's used E7 heads which flow 165/115cfm (intake/exhaust), which is quite poor so don't really have that much potential. The GT40 heads were the performance line from ford, the cast iron ones fitted to the EB/EL GT and ED Sprint flowed 196/129cfm which again isnt great but its still a decent improvement over the E7's. The GT40P's are basically a newer design of the GT40, they have better flow with 196/142cfm, and also have very different combustion chamber design which gives them a far more efficient burn, increasing power and reducing emissions.

The are all generally interchangable, GT40s fit on with no modifications while if you fit GT40P's on an e-series you sometimes run into issues with exhaust manifold to spark plug clearance (GT40P's have a different spark plug angle). Pacemaker/Genie/HM and the EL series 2 185kw extractors will all fit, you will just need some 90 degree spark plug leads.
