Personally I'd go a World 427 or 460 windsor short with CHI heads. If i were going modular I'd get an '03/'04 Cobra supercharged DOHC 4.6 instead....this engine redefines the word "bulletproof" and it's smaller(slightly).

your suggestion XR9UTE is probly the more sensible option, but i think its got nothing to with "sensible" with this one, i mean how many people have put boss engines in e series, not many, if any, it would be mainly for bragging rights, and the power would be quite nice with afew modifications

Hey an Albany Lad!
I think you'll find there's a few 5.4 E-series out there already but I understand that people would think like that. I would say there would be zero supercharged DOHC 4.6 powered E-series out there?

s**t yes.

I want one of those cobras. Apparently 500hp at the treads is easy with bolt ons.

Brand new modualr 4.6 mustang cobra engines with tremec 5 speed go for $8,800 from the speed joints, wouldn't be bad being all alloy and physically smaller.

Its all good madxr8, I personaly love to dream up combinations but I'm also a realist. A mate has an rx2 mazda 12a who has his head stuck in the sand. Can't polish a turd I say.
Dude just buy a ba xr8 or better save some money and buy a manual 220kw xr8. You'll have a great springboard for daily driver/weekend racer.
