there should be a specs sticker on the bonnet that shows timing , idle , plug gap and belt layout there , and is it auto or manuel

the workshop manual ive got here says idle speed for v8 is 700-800rpm but doesnt say for auto or manual.
i have mine set at 750rpm.

just remember to reset the T.P.S. voltage if you adjust your iddle speed, sticky at top of page.

My factory ford workshop manual says between 500 - 700 rpm for automatic, like what was said above once you adjust the idle you have to set the t.p.s again.

could be a dodgey ISC.

have you checked for fault codes? that will soon tell ya if there is a sensor that is stuffed.

hang on, just read the whole thread again.

what is the actual problem? is it just the idle speed?

does the car run like s**t, no power or what?
has it idled like that the whole time you have had it? or started recently?

has been that one since i got it.....

it started to leak coolant at the bottom of the radiator so i replaced the radiator..

then took it home for a day then noticed it was leaking from the waterpump so while i was there we changed the thermo housing and thermo it self....

but still having this rough idle.. but doesnt seem to be using coolant or milky oil...

runs rough on idle only drove for 4 hrs on the weekend and got out and checked fluids and doesnt seem to be using it... MMMMMMMMM its kinds worrying me abit..

it has stalled on me twice now..

nah i have done full serice including fuel filter, fuel pump, oil filter and new plugs and leads...

the idle will sit on about 500rpm then i drop it into R or D and the idle drops off to about 200Rpm have to get on the pedal quick otherwise it shatters...

if at lights it sits on about 500 rpm if it starts to run rough i just hold on foot on the pedal a little bit and it seems to be fine...
