hi all,
i haven't been on here much over the last few months due to work being pretty busy so i hope all the regular V8 workshop boys are all still here and well. today i was giving my xr8 a run when the alternator developed a really loud squeaking and slight grinding sound, still charges fine just sounds like a bearing has packed up inside the alternator. can these be pulled apart and the bearings replaced? thanks.

Yeah they come apart.
Might be quicker and easier but to just get a reco alternator. I paid $195 for one a few weeks ago for our NF and the same not long before that for the EL XR8.

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around! |
