Hi all,
I have looked and looked through the forum with absolutely no luck... I have bought all the parts to fit an electronic shift kit to me EL XR8... the problem is all i can find is wiring diagrams for the I6 and the V8 has the seperate trans computer which is under the dash on the drivers side... does anyone have any info as to where it must be wired? any help appreciated... (maybe worth making a sticky out of it because im sure im not the only onehaving this problem) thanks Jason |

Wrong forum mate, this is for V8s not transmissions.
Tell me what kit you have and what wires need to where ie solenoid numbers etc. I'll dig up some info for you. I've got the info you need if its a EL/NL/DL V8 TCM diagram and pinout. In my opinion, shift kits are silly. Firm up your shifts and they are not a substitute for a 5 speed manual. EDIT: A lot of your questions in this forum have already been answered so persevere with the search function. All I did was type in "V8 shift kit" and within 2 minutes of searching these forums, I have found the information you need. I suggest you use the second diagram.......... fordmods-technical-documents-diy-f38/shift-kits-t36009.html?hilit=V8%20shift%20kit&start=120 |

Hi mate,
yes it is an EL (XR8 specifically not that that matters) yeah if you can dig up the diagrams that would be gold... it is the electronics one based on shiftkits aust i believe... just the three wire and resistor one... dad is actually going to wire it up for me as he is the whiz he just needs to know where to tap into given my car has the TCM... sorry i did do a search and had a look but with no definate answers about the V8 version... i will have a read through that thread but if you have the info and you dont mind posting it up that would be great... thanks mate! |
