The smallest Deka's they make in the long style EV1, but apparently they tune real good at idle and low load conditions, being a new generation injector they don't have the tuning issues that older style injectors had under those conditions. I even had some guys say go the 80#ers, as they tune just as good, leaving a ton of headroom if I go to a 363 Dart bottom end.

But the 60's will be more than enough for now.

Also all the new Ford racing injectors are a dual cone spray pattern which is only syited to the multi valve modular stuff. Seimens still feature a single cone spray pattern so you won't wash your intake port walls.

From all reports the Deka's are top notch.

Correction, you have them in the Fordrunner. Fordrunner is not yet running. Ok so I'm gonna do this right.

Looking to get AFR 165 heads:
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/280641138707?nav=SEARCH

(Are these ok?)

What extractors, cam, springs, roller rockers do you suggest I get to go with it?
If possible looking to get about 300hp is that possible or am I dreaming?

I plan to get a second hand bottom end and getting it tidy so it can handle some power.
As my car is an auto would you suggest I get a high stall or diff ratio change??

I plan on doing this over a few years, collecting parts and then doing it all in one go, tune and all.

If anyone could make a brief list or post a link/ URL that would be awesome.

Thanks

Depending whether you want to stay with bolt on rockers or go with studs look here....
http://www.airflowresearch.com/index.php?cPath=21_23
I'd go with stud mount personally.
Pacemakers will do the trick.
Stall speed depends almost entirely on the camshaft used.

Power goal will be easier to achieve with a larger cylinder head, as an example in the states recently a stock bottom end 5.0L, Trickflow 190cc 11R cylinder heads, TFS-R intake and a small (218/224) camshaft went 348rwhp. Car drives like stock at lower rpms.

AHHH, it's so hard to make a decision!!!

Went into my local ford wrecker and they have AU III XR8 being wrecked.
I enquired about the car and he said he will sell the (GT40P heads, springs, 1.7 YT rr) for $300.00
Just wondering if this setup would work with a 2031 cam on my EL XR8
(Will this run on stock ecu or need a tune?)
as I have read somewhere that the 220kw heads were ported slightly from factory..
(I'm looking to spend around $4000 installed)
-decent heads (eg AFR) are approx $1500-$2000

Obviously if I was to go ahead with this I would be getting a professional to install and tidy up the heads,

I'm open to other suggestions, as I said I'm a bit confused with what direction to go, I can't make up my mind.

Thanks
:)

The 220 heads had some very minor cleanup work around the valve bowls & chambers, larger valves fitted & were decked 0.030".

Ok this is what I'm going for,
I don't want an over the top set up just a little more go..

Heads: (gt40p)
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/290874013551?nav=SEARCH

Cam: (crane 2031)
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/181524133795?nav=SEARCH

Roller Rockers: (Crane 1.7)
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/181524271708?nav=SEARCH

Extractors: (pacemaker)
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/151078880591?nav=SEARCH

How would this setup go? Will stock valve springs which come with the gt40p's be ok? If not what should I get??

I will be getting this professionally installed and tuned.

What are your opinions on this?

Cheers, thanks for the feed back so far..:)

No to run the 2031 cam you will need to change springs & retainers. Something like this:
http://www.alexsparts.com/sb-ford-gt40p ... -580-lift/

Even with a stock cam and 1.7rr's you will get valve float at 5000rpm with the stock GT40P springs. Toss them in the bin the first chance you get. There are many options out there. I've got the crane drop in beehive spring set which is supposedly good for 0.550" lift.
