Here's one to get you thinking! I have just droppped a 5.0 out of a NC 'lane into my XF Panelvan. Used Clevo mounts, clevo flywheel(had it balanced to the original flexplate), clevo bellhousing(starter on drivers side), XY windsor extracters(only modified to get around hyd clutch slave), a walkinshaw T5 and a XA gt radiator.
All went in well.
NOW, I have developed a vibration in the bottom end(balancer?) and am looking at replacing it with a short 99AU motor with my top and acc.
1st problem: I still have to do my emmisions test for eng. cert.
2nd problem: will every thing match/swap over?

I am looking to upgrade the heads/manifold/throttle body at later dates.I am running EMS8860 so mods should be easy enough to tune.

would any of this prevent me from passing '86 emmissions and any help about changing the bottom ends over would be greatly appreciated.

you have to pass the emmisions the engine was designed for, in this case as it is the newest part.

you best bet is put a stock engine in there with a stock ECU and all of the emisions gear from the donor car

I have spoken to three different RTA inspectors and all of them said I had to comply to 1986 emmissions.

Yes. explained to them exactly what I was going to use. One told me that as long as the ecu was in the factory position and could not be tuned while driving it would be OK.

That's exactly it, but i think it changes from state to state.
If we had to comply with the year of the engine then we'd all be throwing XY Clevo's into E series lol.

here you have to comply with which ever is newer. no reason you can't put a clevo in a BA so long as you can prove it meet the BA emissions.

put an injected windsor in an XY and it must meet the emissions of the engine
