Hey, I have an 04 BA V8 Faimont GHIA, I changed the headlight globes on fri, I disconnected the battery when doing this. The battery was disconnected for about half an hour. The car started fine on fri and I was able to drive to work, then drive locally and tow a trailer on sat with no problem. But today(monday) when I was driving to work I got about 300m from home and the engine l light come on, the car lost all power I could only crawl to the side of the road. I turned it off and started it again and all was fine. I was slowing down From 50km for an intersection when it happened. Just wondering if this is normal after disconnecting the battery or if there is something wrong that just happened to show its ugly had now.

Checked everything I could, everything seems fine hasn't happened again so I'm not too worried now. Thanks for the help.

My 6 does this about 2-3 times a year, in fact it did it last night. I've never found the cause

could be a low charge battery. if theres not much charge in the battery it goes into limp home mode while it charges. it then goes back to normal when you restart the car

Doubt its the battery it's a yellow top, should be fine. If it happens again I'll take it into ford.

It sounds like the same problem as mine, so I doubt its the battery and its not going into limp home mode as the engine just cuts out and you roll to a stop. It starts up normally afterwards.
As I said its not going to be the battery as mine did it on Friday and the last time was months ago and the next time is likely to be months from now. Being so infrequent its impossible to trace the fault, unless its logging a code.....
