hi all. Can anyone tell me what spec external fuel pump I would need to run a EB 5ltr as I'm putting it in to a XC I've been told Bosch 044 but that seems over kill as I don't plan on bumping up the power levels on it much.

Depends on the state of tune of said engine?
If it's stock, a stock 88Lph pump will suffice.
You can use a inline pump but you really need a surge tank and a lift pump to it.
In fact, a good option is to use an entire steel tank from an E-series multipoint wagon. We did this in my mates 5.8EFI XA Superbird. From memory we had to make some thin filler panels for the sides because it's tad narrower than stock but that was very easy.
