Hi guys, i have two set's of headers i can choose from, both cost me the same $$, one pair is the 4-1 design, the other set is a 4-2-1 design.
What should i be using? Both are unbranded from what i can see. The 4-2-1's don't look like the usual E series headers, but they came straight off an EB so they must be ok. |

Mate, i saw a set of extractors (complete with the rest of exhaust setup i think?) on Trade Me the other day, was going to flick you a PM about them but it completely slipped my mind. Then again you might have already spotted them
From what i have read/heard, 4-2-1 or tri-y extractors are supposedly better for low-mid range torque whereas the 4 into 1 design is better in the upper rev range. But i guess depending on pipe sizes, length, design etc you could get one type to out-perform the other so i reckon it would be hard to say. Got any pictures of both sets? |

Yeah mate, i spotted those too. I have been in contact with the seller before, in fact, i just scored an EB/ED Momo wheel off him for a very reasonable price Here's the 4-2-1 headers: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =279049021 And here is the 4-1

what are your future plans more like it?. if your not going to go anything more then a gt40p/explorer/cam combo then tri-y's are the go.
If your going with either alloy heads, stroker or forced induction route then the four into one is what you want. |

Well in the future i will be sticking a set of alloys on it, but not anytime soon, University and car modding don't pair well in the bank department. I was going to use the Tri-ys, but i didn't like the look of the angle of one of the collector pipes on the driver side header, have a look at that link and see what i mean |
