I've had a similar idea for quite a while now - the idea of a big simple truck running anything from a 302/351 to a big block with heaps of room seems very appealing. I've been half watching them on gumtree; they seem like they go for really good prices for what you're getting (especially compared to a similar year ol Falcon..) I talked recently with a guy at the local shops who had a mid 60's F truck, blue with a white roof , sliding open rear window and gun rack(!) - running a 302C / C4 - he said you can't kill one with a big stick and said once you own one, you'll love it... he said think of it as a big simple heavy duty Falcon - thats what appealed to me - he said not much goes wrong with them (taking into account age etc..) where I live there are lots of stables, too - later F100's / F250's seem to be very popular for towing horse floats and they actually look pretty comfortable too!

56 is a nice year. haven't really been in to them, but wouldn't mind a bronco of that era.

Here's my mates 55 F1.
It's got air suspension, Vortech T-trim blown, intercooled, 351w, maxed out 42's, EECIV, C4, 3.5:1 9" Tan leather custom interior. Poxy MSD distributor. It's fun to drive and I did drive it from Bunbury to Perth on a tuning session but, I'm a bit tall for it...not much leg room It melts those 20" tyres at will personally I like later ones. btw that '86 F350 behind is for sale it's one of those special tuner ones called a "Shadow" I think. It's got fresh 460/C6 with LPG and Alcoa wheels. |

Yeah I agree...I generally don't like billet wheels anyway.
The colour is Lightning strike. John has fun giving commode drivers the s**t in the F350 when they try to outrun it |

F-trucks rock! I got a Black 70' F100 351 Clevo that I picked up recently.
Heres a pic: They do rust out like any other old ford, main places are roof, firewall, floors, bottom of cab corners, inner guards and rad support. Alot of the have craploads of bog in them as they are work trucks but if you can find a nice original one or one that's been done up properly you'll never look back. You can import pretty much any and every part from LMC Truck or Dennis Carpenter. Heres a nice 73-79: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Modifed-Ford ... 2a14288cb2 Alex

I think the problem is step sides wouldn't sell very well.
You can wear it on Dually's because of the extra wide body but standard bodies kind of look kicked up the a*** I reckon and certainly look unmatched style wise with the cab of 60's-up effies. |

Nice few here, me and a mate have a couple.
This is our current project, 72 f250 351 with the good old 4 spd crashbox and danna 70 diff, f**k nice to drive. Plenty of ventilaion out of what's left of the bonnet. Also has a 78 model f100, gal cab and hopefully shortly will have a carcass to raid. Ok one thing to know is keep your eye out for any with a gal cab, some of them were partially galvanized cab and tub. I'm under the impression they were canadian built cab's but f**k 3 fullsize blokes and a carton in the footwell with plenty of room to spare. dirty old v8 upfront. and to think your doing your part for the enviroment, or is that against. f**k they certainly suck the juice.

{USERNAME} wrote: Very cool Alex!! It sure is showing that there are plenty of F-truck fans out there. Was this your first? Were there any ugly surprises after you picked it up? I saw that one on ebay. It just ended without any bids and the guy has relisted straight up for the same price. I thought the stepside would have been popular and it would have sold. I'm not real keen on the tray anyway, it would only get sold off. As Mick guessed Thanks mate, Haha nah I've had four before I bought this one, now it's just the 70' and a 72 I got as a project(Jag IFS, 4link etc.) The only thing that is pissing me off with it is, I'm currently redoing the interior (por-15 floors, dynamat, new stereo & carpet) everything just snowballs. I was planning only to replace the carpet and put a small sterio in it. Now I've had to remove carpet and strip the floor, remove fuel tank from behind the seat and build a sub box, cut hole for head unit, cut holes for speakers, por-15 floor, install a new seat and I still havn't replaced the carpet yet lol. But in the end it'll be worth it.... I hope
