best way is to change it out for a coil that you know works, if it doesnt fire then, you know the coil isnt at fault

also a great way to find out
-if you've got an existing heart condition.
-if your bonnet is up all the way (test instrument is you head)
-how much it hurts biting the end off your tonge

if you've got a multimeter you can do some tests . there are 3 terminals one marked (-) another small terminal and the hightention end they're all conected like this
(-)0ww0wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww0 (spark hightention)

w's are windings. so your multimeter should show about 1.5ohm between (-)and (+) and 10kohm between (ht) and (+) and if your multimeter is far more accurate than mine it should be 10 001.5 ohm between (ht) and (-) otherwise it'll just show the 10kohm these are approxamte values and not to scale but you get the idea

if you've got the duraspark ignition the wiring diagram is below

have you finished the respray yet. howza bout some pics.

i know that on the 6's, if the tfi module fails, you won't get a spark out of the coil. test the module first, you'll need a multimeter.
