just had a look under the mont drivers side and theres about an inch gap between the factory headers and the stut tower.
tuned shorties might be to wide,
just trying to get the best quality at best price .
i dont mind doing the cat sections custom

Shorty header are nowhere near as good as full length anyway. Get some pacemakers.

tunedshrty has to b better than just shorty.
but i agree full length is better across the whole rev range not just low/mid.
sayin that i want low/mid power, it rarley(once a drive) sees above 2500rpm doesnt need to .
i want it to be less of a slug cause it sucks fuel under 2250 rpm but cant do speed limit around or over that rpm.
i want stainless and heat coated ,dont want to have to move the engine to fit or major like that if possible.
pacemaker seems like a expensive boring option.
so i might just get some custom made then.
or buy raw ss one and get it the old chop and tig

Actually I've seen tests where there's nothing in it between tuned shorty and unequal length shorty.
Pacemaker may be "boring" but they work.
They don't do a Tri-Y because the small 1 5/8" primary 4 into 1 gives the best results on this engine.
I fitted 4 into 1 Difillipo headers on my BA without removing or moving my engine so you should be able to fit the pacemakers the same way. I'd just go for some ceramic coated Pacemakers and be done with it.
Getting some made outweighs the cost vs benefit ratio I think.
I've just made a set for my 351w powered range rover and it cost me about $600 for a 304 stainless kit. A custom exhaust shop wanted $3K!$!

ouch 3k
i have a very experienced welder at my disposal for $30 an hour minus mates time... was gonna boost the ef mont custom stainless everything ,but bought this instead.
still have some change but i have been unplanned spending heaps on it and on advice ,
so i have broadend my want to full length stainless heatcoated even if they second hand maybe even pace maker ,i dont want to spend more than a grand on the headers , fitted is by me

still dreaming .../
i read a post years back about this ,i think they persueded them to fit with a hammer
damn who was it? ohwell

anyway after copious amounts of youtube watching of mustangs and f trucks on hoists getting headers i have taken note of the following.
*in full length mustang headers look to be the closest cousin because they have similar bay clearence and ground clearence
* steering is on different side obviously, right header prolly have to be customised, although headers sits right against the gear box in a similar fashion to the falcon, so maybe not
*starter motor may be in the way on left ,need more looks at

Starter won't be in the way because they're behind the bell on Falcons.
