Some times my low water light comes on for about 5 minutes and then goes out.
I've checked the Header tank and over filled it but it's still doing it. Has any one else had this trouble? I think I might have a Dodgy sender. ANY IDEAS ? |

on the radiator fill tank youll see some wires to the right hanging off it! there is a sensor in there to detect how much water is in the tank.
mine s**t itself and did the same as yours turned out to be that sensor. hope that helps

Thanks..
I was thinking that as well, Its going to a Dealer for the Steering recall next week so I will get a new one.

Yeah maybe I could just join the wires together that would stop it.
I did that on my XF Ghia. |

I did that on my XF Ghia. nope wont work! is uses resitance of some sort ie liek steeriwng wheel controls to turn the light on/off only way to fix it is to buy a new one

Bloody thing is on all the time now.... It pisses me off, because it catches my eye. I might see if I can Score a Second hand one,
other wise I will get one off Ford.

Two things : If you have a blown head gasket then maybee pressure in the water system drops the water level, and it goes on.
Otherwise, you can buy just the float for the sensor from ford (it used to be in the parts lookup database here) and that fixes your problem. Seems the floats either warp in the heat (duh : Coolant), or the Iron/Magnet in the float rusts away. Ive gone through 2 floats in 7 years. Nigel |

its common-ish for AU falcons without senders to light up this light.. i can find the TSB (technical service bullitin) with the fix if u like..

Well I replaced mine today, It was $53 at Coffeys in Dandenong.
When I pulled the old sender out I found that the Flout was full of water. |
