I recently purchased a new project, a 6 banga XE and I want to bolt in a cleveland, do I need to change cross members ? or will it just bolt in? this is my first V8 so i'm clueless, i've played with falcon 6's for 10 years time for a change.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need XA-XE V8 mount plates that bolt to your crossmember(which are all the same and NOT removable) and V8 mounts for XR-XE.

I put a clevo into my xd which was a six and its an easy conversion, except the stock 51 wasnt as quick as the 250 xflow :( so it came out again.

Just some headers would have got you more than 200hp with the cleveland and s**t more torque than the 250.

No it wouldnt have, it wasnt rebuilt , and in an xd fairlane they only made around 150-160 kw brand new at the flywheel.
That particular six was quicker than a stock xd 351 clevo, what more can i say :?
My 250 was making close to 185kw at the engine, more than the stock clevo.
