Hi All,

Filled my tank up yesterday and the ute took about 62L. On the odo I got 475km from the 62L which isn't too bad I reckon. How many k's per tank are you e-series v8 boys getting? Just thought it would be interesting to compare.

When I first got my ute I got 270km a tank, but with a good service and half mature driving i've bettered it.

Cheers

350 - 400 city. with 3.9 gears i don't want to know what the highway mileage is like. bought it in sydney and drove it home and it wasn't a whole lot better. maybe bout 500ish.

before ppl tell me to get it tuned, its not stock and its running fine.

AUII LTD getting 350KM from 60L of LPG around the city. 550km on the freeway.

Never ran a full tank of petrol from start to finish.. should get a tad more than LPG..

Hmm didn't realise that getting extractors would help so much. My engine is completely stock and I am running an auto, so I guess there is heaps of room for improvement. I'm running 98octane...does this affect it much or am I wasting my money? I've noticed a big diff from using 98....it does take a few tanks to work though.

Almost everyone says the 98 octane does nothing.
I run it in mine, but its all aftermarket ECU and so on, even though i din't get it tuned to run on it.
I used to notice a 10% difference when i ran it in my old ED Fairmont, i got 550km, compared to 500kms from a tank. So i thought that at the time, that getting 10% further on a tank was good considering the price of premium wasn't 10% more than normal ULP.

My aftermarket ecu is tuned to 98. May have been summer but the new V tune got me 30km more than the old Vortex mix. (Both Shell 98).

el xr8 auto with minor mods
i push 450-550 out of a tank 70%city 30%Hwy, but have scored 650 out of a tank.

i usually get 12-13L/100km off V-power and Ultimate.
and round 15 - 16L/100km off normal octane

350- 400 around town. The last couple of weeks I've averaged 14.5l/100 city on BP ultimate 98.

Highway, around 9- 10l/100 on average. I've seen close to 700 from a tank of juice running 98. On regular ULP, barely make it to 600km.

Hitch a ride in a mates car...
Or don't drive it on the weekend...
They're about the only suggestions i can think of.
The thing is though, the V8's aren't much, if any, heavier on fuel than the 6's.
