thanks guy's. Looks like i'll get a a1000, submerge it on a bracket in tank. With dash 6 return and dash 8 feed. And will look into the controller too.

just bought an A1000 form the states. But was looking at some specs and have two different links showing different data.

You'll need to know what it flows @ fuel pressure + boost pressure but if it flows 700lb/hr at 45 psi It shouldn't have dropped too much at say 55psi? What's your boost pressure estimate?

Fuel pressure is what you set it at but, when you have to push fuel into positive pressure it becomes more difficult. Effectively, the pump sees fuel pressure + boost pressure.

My feed is -8 from pump which isn't that loud when fitted correctly..
To filter then a Y to twin -8 into rear of fuel rails.. Then fuel reg is between the front fuel rails with -6 return.. Using a T that feeds surge tank and fuel tank on fuel return line.. So there's no chance of surge tank running low.. Aeromotive are self priming.. Just require at least -8 lines if not using a surge tank.. So some mods are required on the tank / fuel line entry.. I had 65Lb injectors and had no issues at 480 rwkw.. Keep in mind braided hoses don't cool fuel as well as alloy or metal lines... Btw I still have std pump feeding surge tank to two bosch pumps on mine with no issues..

ok cool XR9UTE- Im not sure i have room for a surge tank like your setup so im planning in mountng my a1000 in tank horizontally (if needed), then modifying the plate that the stock lines run through ie. drill and weld speed flow fittings to it so -8 can be ran from pump to filter and so on. And doing the same with return using -6 line. This sound ok??
then ill do similar to your rail setup. Question about injectors again. If mine are 69lb @43.5 (i think) psi. If i up it to 50 psi to get more flow.....what are the dis advantages? I can only see it making it harder to get a good idle? Reason i ask is i THINK my 69lbs will be border line so thinking of running higher line pressure?? What are the limits of fuel pressure with an A1000 pump and reg, -8/-6 braided lines and aeromotive rails? |

These pumps have -10 thread fittings on pump and h.p rating is 1000 h.p..
I assume 800 forced induction ?? I bought mine in U.S for just under $300... Running injectors at high fuel pressure can turn them into static open.. Also the big problem is the fuel pump/s have to supply against this pressure.. Idle issues depends on how good the ECU is at handling such small pulses.. Low impedance helps ECU control at higher flow rates ..

is 50 psi too much to ask out of the rochester injector's? And EMS 4424? Also when you say pump max hp is 800 boosted, so if i can expect 750-800 is this sitting too close to the rating?

50psi fuel rail pressure is too low as you say your expected maximum boost is 15psi. You say your injectors are flowed at 43psi pressure accross the injector. At 50psi rail pressure and 15psi manifold pressure your pressure accross the injector is only 35psi. So your 69lb/hr injector is more like 56lb/hr which is too small for your stated power level, meaning you will lean out at maximum boost. A dangerous situation for any motor.
The required fuel rail pressure (to maintain the injectors advertised mass delivery at maximum boost, 69lb/hr) can be calculated by adding boost pressure to their test pressure used, you say 43psi althought many are typically tested at 39.15psi and Holley injectors are tested at 40psi (so it is critical that you check with the injector manufacturer just to be safe). 43 + 15 = 58psi rail pressure. Get a fuel delivery map for the fuel pump as XR9UTE said previously. This will answer all the questions about delivery capability.

A dangerous situation for any motor. only if he doesn't use a pressure referenced regulator. so use one, which solves that issue, and means that no matter what manifold pressure you have, the pressure difference across the injectors will always be 50psi (or whatever you set base pressure too).

I was assuming we were all talking about 50psig rail pressure rather than 50psi accross the injector (meaning up to 65psig at 15psi boost). Is this not the case? And yes, absolutely use a fuel reg referenced to manifold vacuum/boost. Tuning would be very difficult without one.

Around 40 rail pressure should be fine. With your injector size. Higher rail pressure is not required..
Plenty of Mustangs making 1000 h.p with these pumps.. If there's any issues it's usually low volts to pump...
