I am considering once again to do a full V8 conversion to my ED falcon sedan.Mainly because i cant find any good V8 ones around and also having trouble selling mine.Thus i have a in very good condition a 1994 ED futura sedan which all the V8 running gear will be dropped into.

Now my dilemar is can i do the full V8 conversion into my ED for around the $1000 to $1500 mark???And can anyone here help me out for the full conversion or just some parts for the conversion.Obviously i will be doing all the work myself.

What parts list would i be making up to aquire all these bits and peices?I will be running an auto trans setup.

My main aim is to have it all running and working properly first before any performance up grades with be done.

Trans cooler lines
x member with rack and steer lines
lhf body harness
rhf body harness
ecu harness + ECU
dash harness as it contains trans ECU plug + trans ECU
A/C pipes to suit 5L
exzaust manifolds and system to diff and over to rear
thats just to get started
that will hit you for about 1500 - 2200 so far

If you have the room to strip it its always cheaper and easier to buy a donor car. That way you have everything and can reference where it all goes.
Then you sell off the donor in bits to recoup some coin.
Or you could buy a car swap it all over and out your driveline into the donor and sell that as a rolling unit!

I've seen 5.0L DL's and NL's (damged) at auctions going for less than $1500, and this was a few years back, so I bet they would be going for less now..

Thanks heaps guys,yeah im having trouble trying to sell my ED.So the money factor gets tied up there.But if i choose to go the conversion side,i would deffinently be considering buying a whole car or then going to buy it piece by piece over time.

If you have seen my ED in the forsale/other thread sections on this forum you will understand why i am considering doing the V8 conversion.My ED is in very very good condition for its age...

Well now i can get prices on some parts of what i need.As for the exhaust i can manage that,i have a good friend who owns a exhaust shop.
Is the steering rack different from the 4L one??The only difference i see is that the V8 one doesnt have a pressure switch????

If i take the conversion route i would be able to roung up some money for that but i know $2000 doesnt sound much but to sum its alot,especially when you have a house/personal loans being payed off and other life commitments.

I would really love to sell my ED but also they dont fetch much anymore,thats why i was looking at also a swap maybe someone has what im looking for and help each other out....

Nice MRE-50L,have you done many V8 conversions?what would you rate the job of doing the conversion out of ten.are there any tricky parts to the conversion?cheers

Yes i have done a Few
nothing really tricky
just take out 6 bits and slip in the 8 bits
as to rate it - 10 / 10 its just 1 of those things that is a walk in the park for me in the rite location .

Nice.Well if i go through with it,will be my first V8 conversion on a ED.Done some engine conversions in older cars.
I have pulled many from engine cradles and suspension in EA's to BF's and also pulled out a few dash in falcons and territory's.So i think i will have engough know how to get me there lol.
